Lepakshi, a charming hamlet situated in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, is part of the Anantpur District. It is about 120 km from Bangalore in Karnataka and 15 km from the town of Hindpur. Although small, the hamlet has a lot of historical and religious significance for the locals.

1. Veerabhadra Temple: As per Hindu beliefs, Veerabhadra is a creation due to the anger of Shiva; when he stepped in to destroy the fire sacrifice of Daksha, after his daughter Sati the soulmate of Shiva, self-immolated in yagna.
2. Lepakshi Temple is an ancient temple displaying the relics of Vijayanagara style of architecture with its roots going back to 16th century. The temple complex comprises of three shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Veerbhadra and Lord Vishnu.
